Oral History Collection
Although the written word is obviously very important in the field of history, sometimes there is no substitute for hearing the voices and emotions of people who lived through the trials and triumphs of the past. ACHS has been working for several decades to collect the oral history of Anoka County, and the life experiences of the people who live here.
Our collection includes more than 250 interviews. The actual audio recordings of the interviews are available at ACHS in the Reading Room, along with typed transcripts for most of them.
