In the 1880s, Porter Kelsey produced thousands and thousands of bricks out of the Kelsey Brick Yard near Round Lake. He used some of those bricks to build a 20 room family home, which is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Learn about the Kelsey’s and the history behind this historic home in Andover, Minnesota.

The Porter Kelsey House

Built in 1887, the Porter Kelsey house in Andover, MN was constructed of locally-produced brick. It is one of few structures built with Kelsey brick that still stands in Anoka County today.

This Anoka County National Registry of Historic Places video was produced by students from Hennepin Technical College Video Production Program in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
