The Anoka County History Center features approximately 2,000 square feet of display space in our gallery hall. Our exhibitions, which have been nationally recognized, tell the story of Anoka County and its people with objects, photographs, and documents from our collection.
Our exhibit hall changes throughout the year, so there’s always something fun to see in the History Center. To keep it as accessible to all as possible, we do not charge an admission fee (but will never turn down a free-will donation!)
We reserve one portion of the exhibit space for a military gallery. This has featured all the major conflicts since the Civil War and currently showcases the home front efforts of World War II. In the next year, it will become home to our Veterans Voices project.
Putting together an exhibit takes time, effort, and plenty of research. It would be a shame to see all of that knowledge get packed up with the artifact once the display closes! Therefore, we’re turning what we have learned into museum boxes, booklets, online displays, and programs.
