History 21 The Podcast - 5.07 Grace Campbell and the Bank Robbery
On December 8, 1925, Grace Campbell was working at the Anoka National Bank in downtown Anoka when a team of five men came in to rob the bank. Sixty-two years later, Grace shared her memories of the event, how they were locked in the bank vault, and even corrected the newspaper on how they eventually escaped.

“Funeral services for Grace R. Campbell, 95, of Anoka, took place Dec. 27 at First Congregational Church of Anoka. Revs Deanna Murray and Delmer Dahl officiated.
Campbell died Dec. 22 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1900, in Anoka, to George W. and Alice (Poole) Ridge.
She is survived by her son William, and his wife Marlys of Champlin; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.”
