History 21 The Podcast - 6.18 Operation Relocation Part 9
Anoka County Historical Society

When the scissors sliced through the logo of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce printed on the ribbon that stretched across the steps of the Ticknor Hill B&B on September 10, a strikingly similar sound was heard nearly a year earlier. The City of Anoka had called requesting we vacate their building to allow for redevelopment in 2027.

With the bed and breakfast now officially open, ACHS 2.0 will continue its efforts with Operation Relocation. This means finding both temporary and permanent accommodation for the collection as well as moving our research library and offices to Ticknor Hill. Our goal? To celebrate the New Year with the sound of more ties being cut—this time to our sturdy and reliable brick history center.

Join hosts Sara Given, ACHS Volunteer Coordinator, and Rebecca Desens, ACHS Executive Director, as they share this intriguing story.
